Snap

Take a photo of litter or an illegal dumping site and add where it is.

Identify

The AI labels what it sees, from a single bottle to a dumped mattress.

How it works

One photo. The right inbox.

Most litter goes unreported because people don't know who to tell. LitterAI figures that out for you.

  1. 1

    You take a photo

Snap litter on a roadside, in a park, or at a dumping site. Add the location and any notes that would help the crew find it.

    photo.jpg
    location: Old Columbia Pike
    notes: next to the guardrail
  2. 2

    AI identifies the litter

LitterAI's image model labels what's in the photo in a few seconds. You can confirm the label or correct it before sending.

    detected: trash bag
    category: loose litter
    confirmed by reporter: yes
  3. 3

    The report is routed

Different litter needs different crews. A mattress isn't handled the same way as a paint can, so LitterAI picks the team based on what it found.

    category → team
    loose litter → roadside cleanup
    mattress → bulk pickup
  4. 4

The cleanup crew gets an email

The team receives one clear email with the photo, the litter type, the location, and the time it was reported. Everything they need to go pick it up.

Dhruv Dobariya

Founder & Developer, LitterAI

Dhruv built LitterAI after meeting residents in Howard County, Maryland who were dealing with trash and illegal dumping in their own neighborhoods. He designed and trained the model, built the app, and works directly with partner organizations to get reports to the people who can act on them.

He also organized students to collect field photos across Maryland neighborhoods to train and test the model.
